Naomi Meshasha

Naomi was born in 1986. She completed, with distinction, a degree in Law at Netanya Academic College and served her articles at the Tel Aviv central district attorney’s office. She is now studying for a second degree in Law. Her parents are from Ethiopia and they encouraged Naomi and their other children to pursue higher education because they knew that that is the key to success, and thus motivation was high among the children. Naomi’s older brothers served as models to her – they all completed academic studies.
Naomi has participated in ESRA’s project “Students Build a Community” in Netanya for four years. According to Naomi, the project has an extremely positive and extensive influence on the whole neighborhood, on the adults, on the image of the neighborhood and of course on the pupils.
Naomi says that in addition to the help and contribution she has made to the neighborhood and to the project, she has a feeling of great satisfaction that throughout her academic studies she was able to become integrated and to be part of this amazing project.
In her words: “I believe that I will continue in the future to help in promoting the members of this community from which I have come. For me this is the beginning of self-fulfillment and following my dreams. I believe that as a lawyer I will be able to realize my desire to be an emissary for my community, bring about social changes, and promote the principles and values I believe in like equality and tolerance”.
